Dentalisms

I wonder how we ever began with dental technicians and cleaning teeth. A few years ago during a visit to the dentist, while lying almost relaxed (except when those mental tools got a bit close to a nerve), my mind drifted....
Old Ogg in the cave clan began to pull teeth one time when his cousin, Blak, came to his house and became sick and started to claw at his mouth and groan and wail. Old Ogg sat on Blak and held him down to investigate the source of the pain and angst. Ogg took thick stick and whacked Blak upside the head, knocking him silly, looked in his mouth and saw a gross bleeding gunky tooth and reached in and yanked it out.

Blak woke up an hour or so later and felt his jaw, ran his tongue over his teeth, and realized the pain was much reduced. Thus the legend of Old Ogg began; people from far and near came to Old Ogg for help when they had pain in their mouths. Old Ogg's nephew, Stug, began to help when Ogg's eyesight began to fail and when his hand developed tremors, at the tender age of 33. Stug, and later his brother, Dapp, began helping mouths on their own....
Then where did the cleaning of teeth start? Who ever even figured out that brushing teeth was a good idea?
"Ugh, Barak - you havem yucky stuff hanging off your teeth, reach in there are pick it out." scolded Greten, his woman.
Then old Barak can't get the crap out of his teeth, so he goes and finds a stick somewhere and is digging around in his mouth. He gets the gunk and decides that felt pretty good, so he starts strolling around the cave village with this stick in his mouth and picks at his teeth all the time.
Actually, it was probably Barak's woman, Greten, that discovered that picking the teeth felt good. Just sounds more like it would be more of a woman's idea.
Guess I need to get on Wikipedia - or a more reliable source -and look up the history of teeth cleaning - nah, I like my version.
