Time warp – limbo – watching time pass from another dimension
Deer run away from the train cars, a coyote runs alongside. A hawk swoops into a field, for lunch?? A flock of over 100 birds take flight as the train passes, antelope graze peacefully or sometimes run away.
Who lives in that old little house that needs paint. The lawn is groomed but barren, someone cares about the appearance, toys are neatly piled by the house.
Look at the huge homes built into the foothills north of Santa Fe. The one along the stream is at odd angles, well done but visually unique.
The people in my little space ship vary. The conductor is friendly, she reads Nora Roberts and Iris Johanssen – mindless mysteries that I enjoy. She is in her 50s, how long has she worked for the railroad – wish I had asked her. The snack bar gal is so friendly and accommodating – does she like her job? She must to be so helpful and cheerful. The job I chose here was to observe both in this spaceship called AmTrak and the sliver of time we roll through.
Peaceful, contemplative, imaginary.
